Children Workshops in Kars
As a part of the “Invisible Cities: Building Capacities for Local Cultural Policy Transformation in Turkey” project, a program was developed in order to increase the culture and arts activities for children and to coordinate the already conducted ones.
The project was initiated on November 14th, 2009, under the coordination of Israfil Parlak, from Kars Culture and Arts Association. The activities included children-film screenings, book-reading sessions and drama workshops and the project continued until March 2010. Book-reading sessions and film screenings were held on Saturdays with nearly 30 children and drama workshops were held on Sundays with 15 children. At the end of the drama workshops, a play on stage was planned. In order to promote the activities they were announced at all the schools in the city.
